Police reported last Monday that an 8 year old boy, who was sleeping, was shot in the head as a hooded gunman having an argument with his father fired gunshots inside their Los Angeles home.
Officer Liliana Preciado stated that the shooting happened shortly before midnight last Sunday while the father was trying to disarm the shooter, who just walked in through the house’s open front doors.
The boy was sleeping in a room and it is still not clear if the bullet had gone through the wall or if it directly hit the boy. The gunshot left the boy in critical condition but fortunately is currently stable.
Police stated that the suspect fled after right after firing a minimum of 10 total shots. Fortunately, all missing the father even if he was only 5 feet away, but sadly hitting the boy.
In a news conference last Monday afternoon, Captain Nicole Alberta Carranza, stated that the family said that the suspect didn’t look familiar, and investigators are still looking for witnesses that could describe the shooter and his vehicle.
As of the moment, the police investigators are withholding family member names, but released a single photo of the young 8 year old boy victim.
