BEACON TRANSCRIPT – On Saturday, Texas authorities, acting on a tip allegedly received from Denny’s manager, arrested two 17-year-old teens. According to the police report, the Texas teen ran over a senior woman, leaving her to die in her locked garage. Police found her decomposing body following a complaint about an odd smell.
Texas Teens Were Known for their Dining and Dashing Routine
On the 23rd of June, Texas police arrested Teijhon “T.J.” Shannon and David Paul Jones. The two have been accused of assaulting and murdering a 75-year-old woman, whose remains have been found in her garage on Friday morning.
According to the police report, the day before the teens were taken into custody, one of 75-year-old Clara Jeanne Barna’s neighbors called the emergency line to report a foul smell coming from the woman’s property.
The authorities rang the doorbell but received no answer. Upon searching the premises, cops found Barna’s decomposing body in the garage.
An autopsy performed on the woman’s remains over the weekend revealed that Mrs. Barna cause of death was vehicular trauma. According to the coroner report, the woman had a fractured skull and a broken back.
Moreover, the clue that led to the arrest of Jones and his accomplice was the woman’s missing 2003 Buick LeSabre.
During questioning, the suspects confessed to killing the woman and stealing the car. According to their taped confessions, the two stalked the senior woman for a while before acting. After Shannon yanked the woman’s car keys, Jones got inside and used the keys to fire up Mrs. Barna’s Buick.
Conclusion
Fearing that they could be heard, Jones put the car in reverse and ran over both Barna and Shannon. The teen sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Before leaving, Shannon dragged Barna into the garage and closed the door.
The authorities were probably notified by Denny’s manager who knew the teens’ dining and dashing routine.
