2K Games is currently working on a remastered version of the franchise for XBox One and PS3.
BEACON TRANSCRIPT – It seems that there is still hoped for a remastered version of the unsettling Bioshock franchise as the Brazilian scoreboard proves it. Bioshock Collection receives an official rating and everything’s pointing in the right direction.
Well, this piece of news holds nothing special at first glance. Just another classification, scoreboard or rating for three games made by a decent gaming company. Still, Bioshock is, and will be, one of the milestones in the history of the modern RPG.
So, it’s no wonder that the game received such a high rating. Now, all of us are asking: what’s the big deal with this scoreboard and why does it matter so much? Apparently, along with the rating come a silent promise for a remastered version of the ever beloved franchise.
Bioshock: Collection includes Bioshock 1, Bioshock 2 and Bioshock: Infinite plus all the DLCs developed by 2K Games. Probably the most awesome DLCs ever released for Bioshock were Minerva’s Den (Bioshock 2) and Burial at Sea for Bioshock: Infinite.
The wonder-list which stands in front of us presents all the Bioshock games along with their platforms. And we know directly from the horse’s mouth that the Collection does not include only the games and the DLCs. Actually, the pack also include high-texture packs, better lighting schemes and some tweaks for increased frame rate.
And with it come the solemn promise from 2K Games that they will soon release a remastered version of the collection for Xbox One and PlayStation 3.
So you’re probably wondering now about Bioshock. What is Bioshock and why the fuss? Well, as stated before, Bioshock is probably one of the most appreciated RPG/Shooting games in history.
Like the Fallout franchise, the plot of Bioshock is driven by an experiment gone wild. While in Fallout the player explores a world set ablaze by man’s need for conquest, in Bioshock you will play the role of a plane crash survivor who gets caught in the middle of an experiment gone wild.
Rapture is the name of the world, and it was designed to be a second Eden. Constructed at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, the steam-punkish city of Rapture was not only the home of people rejected by the outside world but the playground of scientists who grew tired of answering all the time to morality.
We will not disclose any more details about the game because nobody likes spoilers. Bioshock Collection receives an official rating in Brazil and everybody’s expects 2K Games to officially announce a remastered version of the franchise for PS3 and Xbox One.

Is this a mistype? Wouldn’t the re-master be for the PS4, and not the PS3?
Edit: Never mind. I just remembered they’d have to port it from the PowerPC Cell architecture.
