Telus is keen on solving the Android 6.0 update issue in the following months.
BEACON TRANSCRIPT – If you’re, by change, into phones and a client of Telus, then you’re in for quite a treat. The Canadian-based wave carrier announced that HTC, Alcatel and LG handsets will receive the Marshmallow update.
Out of pure courtesy for its clients, besides the announcement, Telus even posted a timeframe on its official website. The table shows what handsets are targeted by this upgrade and when is it supposed to happen.
According to several sources on the Internet, it would seem that the Canadian wave carrier is long overdue with this update. Telus promised its clients that all registered handsets will receive these updates until the holidays.
So, why the delay and why now? To put in simpler terms, the update had a couple of bugs and the tech team needed time to solve them.
But it would seem that the tech team managed to find a way around the obstacles. Thus, the company made it official that starting with the 18th of January, a couple of registered handsets will receive the Marshmallow update.
Now, without further ado, let’s take a look at the timetable and what each and everyone is receiving from Telus.
First of the list are the HTC One M8 handsets, which are poised to receive the Android 6.0 update. Apart from the new OS, M8 phones will also receive a much-needed security update.
Next stop is the M9 series, which will basically receive the same features as the M8 phones. But the updates are not restricted only to HTC handsets, meaning that Telus wants to be Canadian in all aspects.
Nexus 6P devices will also receive a couple of goodies from the Canadian wave carrier. According to the timeframe posted on Telus’s site, Nexus 6P handsets will receive a security update on the 1st of February.
The next case on the table is a tricky one because it had a lot of issues in the past. Alcatel Idol 3 is set to receive the much-awaited update on the 18th of January. Besides the security update, the handset will also receive a patch for the pesky audio bug.
Apart from these handsets, LG G4, G3 and Moto G are in line to receive the Marshmallow update. G4 is up for the 1st of February and G3 for the 14th of March. Moto 3 is eligible for an update and will receive one of the 14th of January.
Bear in mind one thing that Telus is entitled to change the timeframes if it is necessary.
