Georgia ‘Jesus’ attacks niqab-wearing food delivery driver.

BEACON TRANSCRIPT – On Saturday, Fulton County deputies arrested a 54-year-old man who allegedly attacked a food delivery driver. When the suspect was discovered, he was naked, his body covered in scars and bruises. The female driver told the police that the suspect claimed to be Jesus Christ.

Food Delivery Driver Fought Back Man with Van Keys

On Saturday, around noon, the authorities were summoned to an Atlanta home by a 29-year-old food delivery driver who claimed to have been assaulted by a client during a drop.

The victim, Sonya King, told the authorities that her attacker, later identified as 54-year-old Rick Painter, ordered food via DoorDash and instructed the delivery person to leave the food on the kitchen’s counter.

King arrived at Painter’ home, entered the house via the front door and left the items on the counter, as instructed. While walking towards the door, King showed up and asked her to stay for another minute because he wanted to offer her a tip.

The woman said that the individual took out his wallet and began looking for a $5 bill when he told her that he’s actually Jesus Christ.

Fearing for her life, the food delivery driver moved slowly towards the door. That’s when the man grabbed her niqab (piece of clothing that covers the face).

During her fight with Painter, the man managed to grab her head. That’s when King poked Painter in the eye and used her car keys’ chain to punch him in the face. Before running away, King could distinctly hear Painter say “Aw, this feels so good.”

Conclusion

After escaping the house, King called the authorities. When the deputies arrived, Painter blocked the front door using a couch. He was later discovered naked in his bedroom, with his body covered in scars and bruises.

The man was taken into custody and charged with battery.

71-Year-old Restaurant Customer Punches Pregnant Woman Over Parking Space

April 17, 2018 By Gary Wymore

Pregnant Woman Assaulted in Macon Restaurant

A 71-year-old restaurant customer slapped a pregnant woman over the space because she stole her parking lot.

BEACON TRANSCRIPT – Bibb County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 71-year-old woman following a confrontation that took place at a Riverside Drive restaurant. According to the authorities, the fight involved a pregnant woman and might be racially-motivated. The aggressor got out of county jail after she posted bail.

Pregnant Woman Cussed at By Aggressor’s Son

Based on the police report, 71-year-old Judy James Tucker, the woman who recently got arrested, drove to the Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen on Saturday night accompanied by her daughter and son.

After arriving at the location, Tucker’s son, the car’s driver, attempted to park the car when they were cut off by 27-year-old Treasure Sharpe and 34-year-old Stephanie Mitchell. According to the victims, Tucker’s son told them that they should really learn how to park a vehicle and used racial slurs to describe them.

Once inside the restaurant, Tucker’s son allegedly went to one of them and commented on their sexual orientation and skin color.

At that point, Treasure Sharpe whipped out her smartphone and begun recording the altercation. Seeing that she’s being recorded, Tucker’s daughter allegedly lunged at the woman, trying to grab the phone. The woman kept telling Mitchell that she attacked her mother and that the woman is bleeding.

Several minutes later, 71-year-old Judy James Tucker intervenes and tells Sharpe that she didn’t give her permission to take pictures of her family. Almost immediately, Tucker can be seen on tape slapping Sharpe across the face, while the pregnant woman was asking her to stop as she’s assaulting a woman with child.

Tucker replied that her husband has a disability and that doesn’t stop her from becoming physical. The slapping and yelling continued until the Bibb County deputies arrived at the restaurant.

After reviewing the tape and penning down testimonies, the authorities arrested the 71-year-old woman and charged her with simple assault. She was released from county jail later that day after her family posted bail.

San Diego Is Power Washing Its Streets To Stop An Outbreak

September 13, 2017 By Troy G. Bennett

power washing the streets of san diego

Workers will be power washing the downtown streets of San Diego with a bleach-based substance.

BEACON TRANSCRIPT – As pointed out by media reports, the city of San Diego has begun power washing its streets with bleach and will likely continue doing so “at least for the time being”. This is reportedly an attempt by the authorities of putting an end to the ongoing hepatitis A outbreak.

San Diego to Start Power Washing its Down Town Streets Every Monday

According to reports, more than 15 people have already died in San Diego because of hepatitis A. The city is being hit with cases of the disease since November 2016, with authorities deciding to declare the outbreak a “health emergency”.

Hundreds of people have reportedly been affected by hepatitis A, which attacks the liver. It seems to have primarily affected the homeless population and the city’s illicit drug users. However, some cases are not connected to either one of these.

Health authorities are still trying to pin the source and cause of this outbreak. The investigation is still ongoing, with no common source of drugs, food, or beverages have yet been identified as being a contributor to the outbreak. Instead, the disease seems to spread from person-to-person and through the contact with “a fecally contaminated environment”.

In trying to end this problem, county officials to increase the streets’ sanitation. To do so, San Diego will be power washing its streets with bleach, to “hopefully remove all feces, blood, bodily fluids or contaminated surfaces”, according to a sanitation plan report.

Starting this Monday, workers dressed in white protective gear and red hard hats will be spraying the sidewalks with a ‘bleached-based liquid’ under high-pressure.

“We’re probably going to be doing them every other Monday, see how that works out at least for the time being,” Jose Ysea, a city spokesman, was reported as saying.

Other Sanitation and Prevention Actions

Presently, only the downtown streets of San Diego are getting this high-pressure power washing sanitation treatment. However, the region’s public health officer, Dr. Wilma Wooten, was reported as stating that other cities will start implanting sanitation programs as well.

Namely, they may start increasing their street-sanitizing or hand-washing efforts.

San Diego county officials have also implemented new vaccination guidelines. These recommend people, especially those at a higher risk, to get vaccinated.

A free hepatitis A vaccination session will take place on September 19, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the San Diego Central Library.

Starting School Later Will Advantage Even The Economy

September 9, 2017 By Helen Bradford

second graders going to school

Rested children learn more and contribute to the economy more when they grow up.

Delaying the start of high school classes till 8:30 am or later could benefit teens and the economy. According to an article in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, starting school times are simply to early to ensure enough sleep in high school teenagers.

Teenagers Are Not Getting Enough Sleep

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, teens need an average of 9 hours of sleep a night. Because their changing biological clock changes in the teen years, it’s often impossible for them to fall asleep before 11:00 pm. Even when they switch off their electronic devices early, it’s still nearly impossible to get enough sleep when high school classes begin at an average time of 7:55 am.

Even the Centers for Disease Control realize the need for later start times for teens and possibly even middle school age children. Sleep is essential for children in this age group for proper mental function. It is also suggested that later start times may decrease the number of car accidents due to sleepy teens.

Starting School Later Can Improve Economy and Obesity Levels

The CDC also reports that not getting enough sleep can lead to obesity and other risk factors such as drinking, smoking and drug use. These factors can impact the economy in enormous ways as far as absenteeism, rehabilitation for substance abuse, dieting and emotional health.

The economic impact of later start times could be seen in as little as ten years. Rand Corporation, who did an in depth study on the subject, predicted a savings of $84 billion. Not only would this simple change of starting school later affect the health of our children but save a lot of money.

Students getting more sleep would also have a positive impact in the classroom as the Rand Study has proven. Attendance, attention and overall performance in the classroom will increase with later start times.

An Aurora Might Become Visible Over The US On Wednesday Night

September 6, 2017 By Troy G. Bennett

BEACON TRANSCRIPT – The latest reports point out that people living in parts the United States might be in for a treat on Wednesday night to Thursday morning, as they might see a ghostly aurora. This will be generated by a solar outburst which occurred in Labor Day and which might create a light show over the northern US states on September 06 to September 07.

Wednesday Night to Come With an Unusually South-Reaching Aurora

Aurora Borealis or the Northern Lights, as they are more commonly known, usually occur at the North o South Poles. They are created as outer space particles meet up with the magnetic field of Earth, which then shuffles them towards the poles of the planet.

On Monday, September 04, specialists noticed a small solar flare eruption on the surface of the Sun. This released a cloud of high-energy particles named a coronal mass ejection. Further observations determined that this is traveling at a speed of around 200 miles per second. This means that it is expected to reach Earth sometime on Wednesday, September 06, at night.

As this coronal mass ejection reaches the Earth’s magnetic field, it is anticipated to result in an unusually south-reaching Aurora, one visible from parts of the United States.

The Space Weather Prediction Center from NOAA is keeping an eye on this event. It is doing so as the upcoming particle mass might trigger a so-called “G3” or geomagnetic storm. A severe such event can damage power grids on Earth and satellites. However, this upcoming one is not expected to be as strong, at least at the moment.

On Tuesday, NOAA released an animation in which it presented an experimental forecast for Wednesday for the northern hemisphere.

This suggests that an aurora might be visible south into northeast Montana, Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Connecticut, New York, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, North Dakota, and northeast South Dakota.

Auroras can be best seen in extremely dark skies with very little light pollution. The eye will need some 10 minutes or more to adjust before spotting them.

Also, the unexpected September 06 aurora may be even harder to spot because of the bright moon set to rise as evening falls over the northern US states.

Americans Baffled by the Mysterious Crescent Shadows that Came with the Eclipse

August 25, 2017 By Angelina Stapp

mysterious shadows during eclipse
BEACON TRANSCRIPT – The view of the moon covering the sun was not the only thing which caught the attention of people during the eclipse, as they remained baffled by other phenomena taking place at the same time. Right before and after an eclipse, you can see weird shadows offering one of the most incredible views you’ve ever witnessed.

How do the weird shadows form?

During eclipses, people can see how shadows get distorted, looking like crescents or snakes. This phenomenon, called shadow band, is quite mysterious, as scientists haven’t managed to find a clear explanation to why it happens. However, NASA has some theories, and tried to make them as clear as possible.

It seems that the motion and direction of the light bands, as well as the intensity to which their shine, is determined by a similar mechanism lying behind twinkling stars. Before the eclipse, the atmosphere of Earth fills with ‘agitated’ air particles which act just like lenses. Their movement causes them to focus and de-focus the sun rays, forming crescent-shaped light patterns on the ground.

Many people were more excited about the shadows than the actual eclipse

Can't take a photo of the eclipse, but here's a picture of the shadows. (Leaves create pinholes that project #eclipse on ground) #mteclipse pic.twitter.com/nnDiIKSPaQ

— Jayme Fraser (@JaymeKFraser) 21 august 2017

People were baffled by this view, so they stormed on Twitter and filled it with amazing photos of the phenomenon. In fact, many of them appeared more excited by the little dance of the shadow bands than by the show put up by the eclipse. For some, the shadows were the true stars of the day.

The shadow band truly offered an amazing spectacle, but they also brought a good thing. Now, people know what to expect for the upcoming eclipses. This is good to know, as the next total eclipse is announced for 2019. Unfortunately, it will be visible in South America, but United States will be blessed with another similar phenomenon in 2024.
