Sony will target the Middle East, Europe and East Asia to market its products

BEACON TRANSCRIPT- Sony will target the Middle East, Europe and East Asia to market its products, according to secret investment slides obtained from an investment event in Japan. The company expects the Asia-Pacific region and Latin America to continue generating growth and profits. The business is expected to be downsized in the USA, Brazil, China or India.

The new line of Sony Xperia X products has generated disinterest and apathy, contrary to the expected results. Reviews criticize the high-price for an otherwise good looking and moving flagship phone from Sony Xperia. The Xperia X line was announced in February, but so far it has met criticism because of the low added value of the phones.

While the competition is busy inventing new gadgets, functions, and apps, to keep on top of each other, Sony has not added anything significant, other than price. For example, Samsung takes pride in the cameras they make for their gadgets, while HTC boasts the high-quality software.

The Xperia X Performance is a good flagship phone. It features a Snapdragon 820 quad-core processing unit, with 3GB RAM. The phone runs well and it has a 5-inch display, with LCD and IPS,  and a 23-megapixel camera on the back, a micro SD slot which can take cards with up to 200 GB, and let’s not forget the initial storage, which has 32 GB.

The smart phone comes with a lightweight Android skin and is designed to be water resistant. The gadget has flagship performance, but the price is still too high for these specifications. The device comes with a camera that’s shaky at times and it overheats. Lacking common features such as an extra vent or anti –shaking technology, this Xperia X performance looks good but is overpriced.

Other drawbacks that Sony Xperia X has are low battery life, with only 8 hours of intensive using available, and the low screen resolution, of only 1080 pixels, compared to the gold standard of 4K.

So far, Sony gave some really good smart phones to the market, with high-quality software and good resolutions. But somehow now, it seems to have fallen behind with the competition. It looks like the market is shifting towards Chinese devices, which offer more value for your money. This is probably one of the reasons Sony will target less developed countries from now on.

Sony Halts Shipping PlayStation TV in Japan

February 29, 2016 By Jennifer Licata

"Sony Halts Shipping PlayStation TV in Japan"

The Nippon tech company acknowledged that the PS TV set was not popular.

BEACON TRANSCRIPT – Unfortunately, we have a piece of bad news for console fans. Recently, the tech giant Sony announced thatit will stop producing the fairly popular PlayStation Vita TV in Japan. Sony halts shipping PlayStation TV in Japan much to the discontent of some of its fans.

In a recent press statement, Sony announced that it will no longer ship PS TVs in Japan. Unfortunately, the tech giant was pretty vague concerning the global situation, meaning that we don’t know if Sony’s plans of halting production of the TV set is limited to Japan or if it affects the rest of the world as well.

Meanwhile, in the lack of an explanation, we can only speculate on the reasons behind Sony’s move. Well, we all know for a fact that the PS TV was not a big hit on the market. Sony wanted PlayStation Vita TV to be the ultimate home-entertainment gadget. Launched in 2013, PS Vita TV was more than a TV set. Apart from the TV routine, the box-like gadget was also a console and a streaming device.

However, things didn’t turn up as Sony planned. Indeed, you could have used the PS Vita in order to play some games, but, only a few of them. In fact, one of the key factors that led to the Vita’s downfall was that the console couldn’t be used in order to play the latest titles. Well, so much for the gaming console feature.

I mean, why would you buy a 70-dollar “gaming” console to play the same games you would normally play using a PS 1? And for the streaming part, we guess that there are far more reliable and cheap TV sets you can use in order to stream your favorite online channels.

Well, a couple of months after the big event, Sony acknowledge that the TV set wasn’t that popular. And so, they’ve decided to cut out a price a bit. So, for a couple of months, everyone could have gotten the dubious TV/console set for a measly 40 bucks. But, it would seem that even this move couldn’t have saved the console from its fate.

So, recently, Sony announced that it will no longer ship the TV hub in Japan, but did not disclose anything about the rest of the world. If the situation affects the global sales, then it will be pretty hard to find another PS TV on the market.

Sony Released the Blueprints for a VR Glove Controller

February 28, 2016 By Troy G. Bennett

"Sony Released the Blueprints for a VR Glove Controller "

The glove controller will allow its user to perform more complex in-games gestures.

BEACON TRANSCRIPT – We all agree that virtual reality is the next logical step in gaming. Towards that end, many tech companies such as Microsoft or HTC have been adding multiple features to their VR devices in order to ship them on to the market as possible. And recently, Sony released the blueprints for a VR glove controller which will enhance the whole VR gaming experience.

With just a few months before Oculus Rift hits the market, everyone it wondering about how are they going to use the new immersive technology? I mean, it’s not like you are going to stick to your head and play the game using a regular mouse, keyboard or another game controller.

Well, it would seem that Sony is currently working on a device that could revolutionize the whole gaming industry and not to mention the fact that the device could change the way we interact with the virtual world.

So, what is this revolutionary device? It’s a glove, but not just any regular glove. This patent released by Sony shows the specs of an intricate controller that will be capable of granting the user unlimited degrees of movement in the game.

Basically, the glove is designed to work with the VR headset. Once the game starts, the users will be able to control his in-game character using only his hand gestures. In fact, the blueprints show that the overall device is so sensitive to the player’s hand motions, that it can even detect the slightest variation in motion.

For instance, the device can tell apart your finger’s movement from your hand’s movement. Moreover, the system recognizes more ample actions such as arching, finger bending, cascade movements and can even tell apart the fingers from your left arm from the fingers of your right arm.

This can be translated as enriched gameplay, meaning that with the same finger you can, for instance, change weapons or open up the map. The trick is how much you will move that finger. Another great innovation brought to us by Sony is the thumb controller patents, which can basically a configurable button.

Unfortunately, apart from this blueprint, the tech company did not disclose any launch date. Furthermore, we can’t even say for sure if the company is currently developing such a devices or if this is just a plan and nothing more.

January 14, 2016 By Gary Wymore

"Sony Launches a Multipurpose Smart Light"

The new device can control room temperature, humidity, luminosity and can even turn on your TV when you enter the room.

BEACON TRANSCRIPT – Having trouble picking the perfect lighting solution for the new entertainment room? Say no more, because Sony has the solution to all of you light-related problems. Sony launches a multipurpose smart light which will make any LED-based overhead fixture look like a relic of the past.

In the past, Sony managed to dazzle us with all sorts of cool gadget, suited for all of your entertainment needs like portable speakers, gaming consoles, home surround systems and video solutions.

It would seem that the Japan-based company is on a winning streak, and it doesn’t want to give up so easily. And so, without further ado, here is the piece of good news that’s sure to screw a smile on your face.

Recently, Sony, the Japanese tech giant, has announced that it will be launching a whole new gadget on the market. The name of this awning new gadget doesn’t say much. Sony dubbed its new invention “Multifunctional Light”, which is kind of dry considering its capabilities.

According to the Nippon producer, the smart light system will be launched in the first quarter of 2016 in Japan. Unfortunately, Sony has refrained from disclosing further details about the price of the device, or when it will be shipped out to the United Stated or to Europe.

But these things are not very important right now. The most crucial aspect at the moment is to see how a little lamp can totally change your perception when it comes to syncing and integration.

On the first glance, the so-called smart light is no different than any overhead fixtures. It’s round, white and has a bulb in it. Nothing too fancy, might I add. But taking a closer look at it, we discover that the little gadget is much more than your typical lamp.

According to Sony, the device is fully capable of syncing with virtually any smart device it can find in your home. This mean that the lamp can pair off with your smart TV, smart air conditioner, laptop, tablet and smartphone.

Using this link, the device can actually adjust the air conditioner in order to create a pleasant atmosphere. And using its motion sensors, the Multifunctional Light can even turn on the TV when you enter the room.

Sony launches a multipurpose smart light which is able to pair off with all of your smart devices. Moreover, customers can use their phone in order to adjust certain ambient parameters such as humidity, luminosity and even temperature. The device is also outfitted with an intercom which lets you communicate with other members situated in adjacent rooms.
