BEACON TRANSCRIPT – You must have heard of the gaming studio Campo Santo for its successful title Firewatch. Now, the developer is coming back stronger than ever, as it has just offered the first glimpse into its new project during Game Awards 2017. The game is called In the Valley of Gods, and continues in the same way as Campo Santo has gotten us used to.
The trailer for In the Valley of Gods has strong visuals
The game studio has also revealed a trailer for In the Valley of Gods, where we can see it kept its focus on the same elements as in Firewatch. We are charmed by the breathtaking visual features of great complexity, as well as by the touching background story.
The action of the game takes place in a vast valley, as the name suggests. Actually, there is a real place on Earth called the Valley of the Gods, which is located in Utah. However, the game is filled with sand, imposing statues, and deprecating ruins, suggesting everything is taking place in an ancient civilization, like Babylonia or Egypt.
There aren’t many hints regarding the action present in the trailer. There are two characters, both women, and their role seems to be the exploration of these ancient formations. Also, the action is probably not taking place nowadays. However, they have a camera with them, and seem pretty determined to record their entire adventure.
Is this game similar to Firewatch?
If we were to compare it with Firewatch, this game also seemed to be about unveiling a huge conspiracy. In fact, the main idea of the game was a bit different. The characters sought to escape their everyday lives, so they went looking for adventure. This way, they could run away from problems and responsibilities, while finding themselves and having loads of fun.
If all of this made you curious, unfortunately, you’ll have to wait a little more until playing In the Valley of Gods. The game is scheduled for release in 2019. Also, no other information is available, but there’s plenty of time for everything to be settled.
