BEACON TRANSCRIPT – Tinder is one of the most popular dating apps that is widely used by millions of people around the globe. But have you ever wondered if rich and influent people also use it? Now, Tinder decided to make a special version only for them to use.
Tinder Select is a secret version of the app that operated from the “members only” principle. It is available only to elite users and it has grown as a version of the app that can be accessed only on the basis of an invite.
It is not clear yet how Tinder will decide who should be granted access and an invite to Tinder Select and who should not. Tech Crunch revealed that those who have already gained access to the Select version are high life people, such as CEOs, super models, or other attractive or rich people.
Thus, Tinder Select is an exclusive version for celebrities or people who are much too popular on regular Tinder. These are the extremely attractive people who have several requirements from their partner and would not swipe right on any person.
How can Tinder Select acquire more users if it is so exclusive? It appears that those who receive an invite on the app also have the possibility to ‘nominate’ other people that they think might want to join Tinder Select. However, these nominated people cannot send invites or nominate other people. This is an attempt to maintain the secrecy of the ‘luxury’ version of the app.
To better suggest the exclusivity of the version, Tinder fashioned Tinder Select with a different look from the standard version. Instead of the flame logo, Select users can see a navy blue S at the top of the screen. The entire color theme of the app is navy blue, which replaced the common orange interface for a fresh and more sophisticated look.
Tech Crunch claims that Tinder Select has been already existing for six months, which suggests that Tinder are not planning to reveal this new version to the public too soon. What is clear is the fact that this new ‘experiment’ is undergoing testing at the moment. Then, we will have to see if Tinder is planning to announce this new feature to the public or keep it in a testing mode.
