California mom uses fake taco to distract robber.

BEACON TRANSCRIPT – Because there isn’t anything fiercer than a mother protecting her loved ones, we give you the story of a woman from California who managed to outsmart a gun-toting robber posing as an undercover agent. The incident occurred on Sunday in the City of Industry.

California Mom Distracts Fake Cop Going Through Her Purse

The heroine of this story is a mother of three who wished to remain anonymous. According to the California mom, at around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, she and her husband drove to a nearby food trailer to grab a bite to eat. The woman said that she spent most of the day at the waterpark with her husband and four children.

Now, this is where things get interesting.  According to the woman, while she and her family ate their meal next to their car, an individual approached them. The California mom declared that the individual looked ominous.

According to the woman, the man flashed a gun and told them that he’s an undercover police officer. He also showed them a police ID to prove that he’s really in law enforcement. However, the California mom quickly figured out that the individual wasn’t a police officer.

So, she started thinking about how to make the individual go away. According to the authorities, the woman offered the fake police officer a taco and told him that she must go to the food trailer to grab some napkins. All this time, the robber, later identified by the authorities as Juan Rodriguez, was going through the woman’s purse.

The California mum went to the food trailer server and calmly told him not to look in the direction of her car. She also told him that the man standing next to the van is trying to rob her family. The server called 911.

Conclusion

In a matter of minutes, Rodriguez was in custody. Apparently, at the sight of the police, Rodriguez tossed the weapon into the family van and attempted to drive off.

The suspect allegedly dragged the body of Jeremy Safran to the basement.

BEACON TRANSCRIPT – Mirzo Atadzhanov, a 28-year-old man from Brooklyn, and the alleged killer of New York City University Professor Jeremy Safran recently entered a not guilty plea. Atadzhanov told the authorities that he was acting in self-defense when he slew the professor.

Jeremy Safran Provoked Brooklyn Man with Derogatory Comment

According to the DA’s Office, Atadzhanov became a person of interest in Safran’s murder after one of the professor’s neighbors saw him entering and leaving the house minutes before his wife discovered the cadaver.

During his police interview, the Brooklyn man, who apparently is from Tajikistan, declared that Safran approached him a while back for house maintenance. Atadzhanov claimed that Jeremey Safran commissioned him to repair his electric system. He also told the authorities that he agreed to Safran’s terms even though he’s not qualified.

Upon completing the repairs, Safran allegedly told Atadzhanov that his work leaves a lot to be desired. Furthermore, according to the suspect’s taped confession, Safran told him that “this country cannot benefit from immigrants.”

Upset by Safran’s derogatory comment, Atadzhanov confronted the New York University professor.

According to the authorities, the suspect claimed that Safran attacked him with a combat knife after their verbal confrontation. The suspect added that Safran’s death was self-defense. However, the crime scene clues paint an entirely different story.

One of Safran’s neighbor saw Atadzhanov entering and leaving the house on the day of the murder. This prompted him to call Safran’s wife.

Furthermore, the first responders found the professor’s body in the basement, with a blunt-type wound to the base of his head.

Conclusion

Atadzhanov was still in the house when Safran’s wife discovered her husband’s body. The authorities declared that the suspect came out of hiding when he saw the woman’s pit bull.

San Francisco Woman to Face Trial for Murdering, Dismembering Roommate

June 11, 2018 By Angelina Stapp

apartment complex

The San Francisco woman murdered for roommate over unpaid rent and broken items.

BEACON TRANSCRIPT – On Friday, a 47-year-old San Francisco woman charged with murder appeared before the magistrates. Lisa Gonzales, a single mother, stands accused of having murdered and dismembered the body of 61-year-old Maggie Mamer. The investigators declared that the murder stemmed from an argument over damage to property.

San Francisco Woman Took Mamer in After Eviction

According to court documents, Maggie Mamer has been living with the accused since August 2017. Gonzales agreed to take Mamer in soon after she found out that the woman had been evicted from her home by “unscrupulous landlords.”

Alex Lilien, Gonzales’ public defender, said on Friday that his client and Mamer would often argue on unpaid rent or damage to the property.

More than that, according to the investigator, the 61-year-old had a long history of refusing to pay the rent.

Things escalated between the San Francisco woman and Mamer, culminating with the elderly roommate’s death. Based on the police report, on the 15th of May, Gonzales attacked Mamer and murdered her.

The authorities discovered that after Gonzales killed Mamer, she used a sharp instrument to dismember her body. The body parts were later found wrapped in plastic bags.

Lilien declared that he’s well aware of the fact that his client is charged with murder, but he doesn’t like the media portraying his client as a cold-hearted monster.

The law enforcement agents who interviewed Gonzales after her arrest revealed that Gonzales confronted Mamer about some household objects being missing.

Conclusion

Alex Bastian, DA’s deputy chief of staff, declared that there are too many unknowns in this case to draw a conclusion.  Lilien, Gonzales’ public defender, argued that his client was feeling overwhelmed lately, being a single mother.

For now, the authorities refused to disclose the details of Mamer’s murder or Gonzales’ mugshot.

The Utah man was charged with child abuse homicide after son passes away at the hospital.

BEACON TRANSCRIPT – Utah authorities confirmed that a 27-year-old Utah man and father of two had been indicted on multiple counts stemming from a fatal shooting that took place in May. Tasman William Maile asleep when his two-year-old son shot himself in the head with a Walther CCP handgun.

Utah Man Slept with Gun Within ‘Arm’s Reach’

On Thursday, 27-year-old Tasman William Maile of West Valley City California was charged with child abuse homicide following the death of his 2-year-old son.

According to the police report and Maile’s testimony, in late May, the Utah man went to sleep with his Walter CCP handgun tucked underneath the pillow.

Several hours later, Maile woke up to the sound of a loud bang.  One of Maile’s neighbors told the authorities that he saw the man throwing a blue bucket in a dumpster just before the authorities arrived.

Upon arriving at the West Valley City address, the authorities discovered an unresponsive two-year-old boy and an individual with a blood-splattered T-shirt.

The child was airlifted to the hospital, where he passed away several days later due to his injury.

A crime scene investigation revealed that the accident occurred in Maile’s bedroom. Authorities noted that the room had no furniture, meaning that the Utah man must have been sleeping with the child on the bare floor. The investigators also discovered piles of unwashed clothes.

However, the breakthrough in Maile’s case came after the authorities found what the man threw in the garbage. A search of the dumpster revealed two handguns, a Walther CPP case, 10 ounces of marijuana, a digital scale, a handgun magazine, and two glass jars.

Conclusion

The Utah man was initially charged with tampering with evidence, marijuana possession, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Following the child’s death, the man was also charged with child abuse homicide.

According to a Jackson County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson the incident, which occurred on Saturday, involved a 23-year-old Gran Pass man who allegedly had consumed LSD.

On that day, two deputies were right outside a Gran Pass shop waiting for a car to be taken in tow. Anthony Clark, the intoxicated Oregon man, seized the opportunity and got behind the car’s wheel.

The man led the authorities on a 40-mile high-speed chase through three different cities. During his attempt to elude the authorities, Clark damaged a homeowner’s fence and sped over two police spike traps.

A couple of traffic monitor officers saw Clark driving the wrong way at least a couple of times. The mad racer was taken into custody after ramming a stopped police cruiser.

During questioned, the individual confessed to taking LSD before boarding the vehicle. More than that, according to the authorities, the suspect was having hallucinations, believing that the carjack and high-speed chase were part of a real-life Grand Theft Auto.

Reportedly, after crashing into the police cruiser, the individual ran on foot and attempted to steal a second vehicle.

In Jackson County, Clark was charged with reckless driving, reckless endangerment, running from a police officer on foot, running from a police officer in a vehicle, driving under the influence, and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

June 4, 2018 By Angelina Stapp

concealed weapon

FBI agent might have consumed alcohol before attempting the backflip.

BEACON TRANSCRIPT – FBI’s Denver branch reported that a bar customer had been injured on the 3rd of June by a seemingly intoxicated off-duty federal agent. According to Denver’s DA Office, the agent’s gun accidentally discharged while performing a backflip.

Bar Customer Took a Slug in the Leg After Agent’s Backflip

According to a Denver Police Department spokesperson, the incident took place at Mile High Spirits, a whiskey, and tequila bar, at around 12:30 a.m.

The man shot in the leg was transported to the hospital for surgery. Doctors believe that the patient will recover.

The surveillance footage from the location reveals the identified off-duty FBI agent being encircled by people who appeared to have been cheering him.

For several minutes, the agent danced by himself in the middle of the crowd circle. According to Denver Police Department, the off-duty agent attempted to end his performance by doing a backflip.

However, after executing the said dance move, his service gun slipped from the holster and fell on the floor.

When the agent bent over to pick his service gun, the weapon went off, injuring the bar customer in the lower leg.

Following the tequila bar incident, the agent was arrested and brought to the Denver Police headquarters. He was released to a Federal Bureau of Investigations supervisor.

Conclusion

According to a Denver Police Department spokesperson, no charges were filed against the FBI agent.

However, the authorities are still waiting for the blood alcohol level test results to determine if the agent had been drinking on the night of the incident.

Although unusual, this wasn’t the first incident of its kind. As Denver Police reveals, in August 2017, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement off-duty agent shot himself in the leg while submitting to airport security.
