BEACON TRANSCRIPT – Who doesn’t love to play games? Especially starting this 19th of January when Xbox gold members get free games for a week. The offer is available staring the 19th and ending on the 24th and will feature 14 games selected by Xbox.
The games that will be made available for the golden subscribers are Peggle 2, Madden 14, FIFA 14, Titanfall, NBA LIVE 15, Need for Speed Rivals, Plants versus Zombies Garden Warfare, Madden 25, NHL 15, Dragon Age: Inquisition, EA Sports UFC, FIFA 15, Battlefield 4, and Battlefield Hardline.
Electronic Arts is rewarding its members and itself at the same time. The gold membership players will be able to test out some of the new games that are available, or some old ones that they didn’t have the chance to buy, and EA gets free publicity. Because what is a better way of promoting a good game than giving the player a chance at it.
Apart from the free trial, Electronic Arts has come up with special prices for the Xbox Live membership fees. If one of the players liked a game that was available for free in the 19-24 January period, and he will purchase it later on, the game will be available to be played from the last saved location. This is actually a smart move from EA seeing how many gamers abandon certain games just because they don’t want to pass through the low levels again.
Electronic Arts did not skim when choosing the games that will be available for free. It has included even Battlefield Hardline which is a new sequel to the Battlefield saga. It may also be a strategy seeing how players have complained that the latest does not rise to the quality level of Battlefield 4. By allowing members to test it out for free EA may do itself a disservice, but yet again, maybe Electronic Arts is confident of the game.
There seems to be quite a selection of sports video games, which is pretty ironic. A couple of days ago a top 10 bestselling games was released and the likes of Madden and FIFA were among the first contenders. This says a lot about the rising taste for virtual physical activity, but also for EA, who strived to give the members something that they will enjoy.
Apart from first person shooters and sports games, EA also included some titles that are better suited for fans under the age of 16, Peggle and the latest Plants versus Zombies. Electronic Arts will make the week of a number of people as Xbox gold members get free games for a week.
