
Andy Rubin will reportedly release a smartphone after he established a new company, Essential.

An estimated 86 percent of all smartphones run the Android system. The value has been estimated at a global level. The extensive network was developed and co-founded by the said Rubin.
Most consider Andy Rubin as being the father of the Android mobile system. He is the Android Inc. co-founder and former CEO. The company was acquired by Google back in 2005. At the time, Rubin took on the role of Senior Vice President of Mobile and Digital Content.
As such, he oversaw the development of the Android operating system. He held more than one position within Google. Rubin also was in charge of the Google robotics management.
Back in 2014, Andy Rubin announced that he would be leaving Google. He was part of the company for about 9 years.
Since then, he has founded Playground Global. He is also the startup’s CEO. And is also a partner at Redpoint Ventures. This is a venture capital firm.
Now, Rubin has reportedly taken on a new challenge. He has set up a company named Essential. It has a number of around 40 employees. Most are said to have a past in other big name tech companies. More exactly, Google or Apple.
Reports state that Essential has already built a prototype. Details about the final product have reportedly been revealed.
Their initial product will most likely be a smartphone. This will reportedly be produced from high-grade materials. It will have a ceramic back panel. Initial reports predict that it will be quite a smart device.
Media reports have already revealed a number of possible features. As such, the smartphone could have a bezel-free display. This would also be quite large, bigger than an iPhone 7 Plus.
All the information is based on inside sources. But also on an official patent request. California-based regulators received a license filing for Essential Products Inc. This was sent to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
In it, the future company offered product details. More exactly, it listed its potential product catalog. This includes smartphones, tablets, and mobile software.
Through it, Andy Rubin could return to the smartphone industry. His company products will reportedly have strong hardware. They will also have ultra-powerful processors.
Media sources also revealed the reported aim. The company has set out to develop a complete smartphone. More exactly, one that will draw together innovations. It will pair them with smart product advancements. As such, it should deliver one of the best customer services.
Software details have yet to be revealed. It is unclear if the “Essential” smartphone will run on Android. Or if it will offer a more advanced, new system. However, reports indicate the following. The smartphone will be focusing on artificial intelligence. It will also be targeting powerful quantum computing.
Andy Rubin’s reported smartphone might come with an upgraded 3D Touch technology. This will be joined by a magnetic charging support. An accessories connector might also be included. This will allow adding additional hardware features.
Andy Rubin is known to have expressed his interest in AI. Playground Global, his startup is specialized in the area. It also targets augmented reality and Robotics.
It remains to be seen whether the rumors will be confirmed. If they are, in fact, true, the smartphone should be quick to come. Most expect its release sometime about the middle of 2017.
