Bills fans have taken the initiative to donate to the Dolphins quarterback Tua TagovailoaBase after his gruesome injury on Thursday night.
Soon after Tagowailoa took the field against the Bengals, social media accounts affiliated with #BillsMafia began making pledges to the Tua Foundation, which supports youth health and wellness. Within 24 hours, Dua Foundation received over 1,000 donations.
“We are grateful for all the support“said Burt Trembley, executive director of the Dua Foundation Buffalo News.
Tagovailoa also suffered an injury against the Bills on Sunday, which led to scrutiny of the decision to clear Tagovailo on Thursday.
Bills fans have a long history of donating to the charities of players on opposing teams, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars in the process. Past donation drives have included gifts and donations to the foundation of Lamar Jackson, who suffered a concussion in the playoff loss to the Bills.
