BEACON TRANSCRIPT- This weekend, gaming enthusiasts worldwide could enjoy BlizzCon, Blizzard’s own video game convention where many exciting announcements have been made. The event included information about most Blizzard games, but what fans seemed to enjoy the most was the news about World of Warcraft.
World of Warcraft will benefit from two exclusive expansions
The main news which left everyone bursting with joy was related to a new World of Warcraft expansion. This consists of an innovative idea to bring the game back to the roots. In other words, what the expansion will do is to recreate the atmosphere of the original game, when there were no expansions.
Although for some it might sound a bit unusual, the idea left all diehard WoW fans in ecstasy. They have been asking for a classic version of the game for a long time, and now Blizzard has finally decided to give it to them. The move might have also been an attempt to reduce the numbers of illegal servers running old-school World of Warcraft, and will collaborate with those who created them.
This edition of BlizzCon was heaven for WoW fans, as there was one more announcement related to the game. Blizzard thought about the non-nostalgic fans as well, so it brought an expansion for them, too. This bears the name Battle For Azeroth, and is the seventh in the series.
Diablo and Warcraft fans were left disappointed
For Battle For Azeroth, Blizzard took inspiration from the original Warcraft, where you can recruit allies to help you during battle. Also, the expansion will come with a special co-op mode, where 20 players can unite their forces and destroy their enemies. This mode is called Waterfront.
Other exciting news brought by Blizzard include a new character in Overwatch, Moira O’Deorain. Unfortunately, Warcraft III fans who were waiting for a remake in the StarCraft style won’t see their wish fulfilled. Also, Diablo II is another game that won’t see any chances of revival, since hackers have taken over the original.
