A businessman created Coco Loko – a legal way to get high with cocoa powder

BEACON TRANSCRIPT – A 29-year-old businessman came up with a wacky idea which he believed would bring him worldwide success. The product he came up with was Coco Loko, a chocolate powder mix you can snort and get high legally. However, health experts advise against such a product.

Trying to find legal ways to get high

Two years ago in Orlando, Nick Anderson founded his company, called Legal Lean, and was looking for ways to manufacture legal products which get you high without containing drugs. He was trying to produce a no-drug purple drank, which is usually obtained by mixing soda with prescription medicine for cold.

Meanwhile, he changed his mind, when he heard about a weird trend which took over Europe – chocolate snorting. This is when he decided this should be his product. He dubbed it Coco Loko, and consists of a mixture of cocoa powder, taurine, guarana, and gingko biloba. The last three ingredients are often found in energy drinks.

Coco Loko is the chocolate mixture which gets you buzzed

If you snort this chocolate mix, you can get high really quickly without drugs. Everything is perfectly legal, since there are no illicit substances present in the mixture. After trying for 10 times in two months to create this blend, Anderson finally came up with the right dosage for each ingredient. If you snort Coco Loko, you remain buzzed for around half an hour. Anderson describes the feeling as a combination of euphoria and concentration.

Anderson started commercializing the product in June. However, it did not receive FDA approval. Snorting solid material is risky, since it might mix with mucus and end up clogging your sinuses. However, there’s no proof that such a mixture is indeed harmful for your body.

On the other hand, experts say such methods are preferable to drugs. Snorting cocoa powder to get high is not likely to get you addicted, is legal, and is probably much harmless for you than any other kind of drugs.
