Although it sounds unlikely, your dietary choices have a great impact on your mental state, so you should be extremely careful when picking up what to eat. A team of researchers decided to explore what foods are suitable for different age groups, and discovered that meat and exercise are the best for young adults.

For every age, there are certain tricks to keep you fit, both from a physical and from a mental point of view. There are many factors which influence it, and your dietary choices are among them. Eating healthily won’t only keep your body in a great shape, but it also helps your mind.
Many young people are now experiencing difficulties in adapting to various social factors, and they are constantly in a bad mental state. What they often tend to avoid is eating properly which, of course, affects their condition. Researchers discovered that being sedentary and not eating meat causes people aged 18 to 29 to struggle with mental issues.
Each age group has to consume certain foods to keep their mind healthy
Both meat consumption and regular exercise is great for the brain, so skipping one of these two ends up causing all kinds of problems. If you are over 30, then you should concentrate in introducing more foods rich in antioxidants in your dietary choices. Make sure you eat plenty of such vegetables, and avoid stress by drinking less coffee.
To reach these conclusions, researchers had people under and over 30 complete a questionnaire on their dietary choices, exercise habits, and the state of their mental health. They concluded that those foods which maintained neurotransmitters active in the brain improved their mood and mental condition. These foods also increased the production of serotonin and dopamine, which are responsible for a good mood.
The study was published in the journal Nutritional Neuroscience.
