Beacon Transcript – GiveMN reported record-breaking giving sum after their annual event Give to the Max Day, which this year was held on November 17 and came with a new addition.
GiveMN is a year-round platform which was initiated in 2009 in Minnesota. It supports and encourages giving and donations for non-profit organizations and schools that need it.
The GiveMN.org domain also features a list of possible donation and charitable causes which need support and offers online donations technical support.
The platform has managed to raise over $140 million in donations since it was first initiated. Amongst its biggest events is the Give to the Max day.
The day-long event which ends at midnight has gathered about $18 million in the two years since its appearance.
According to GiveMN representatives, this year’s day gathered a record-breaking sum. The grand total giving sum reached $20,120,336 and it was raised from a number of 110,602 gifts.
The such gathered donations will be sent to a number of 5,756 non-profits across Minnesota, which will also receive GIveMN gifts and donations.
Give to the Max Day is an opportunity for both friendly competition and, more importantly, for schools and non-profits to get involved in fundraising.
The participating non-profits are given the chance to compete for a number of prizes whose sum total reaches $150,000 million.
Golden Ticket drawings are also an hourly occurrence and nonprofits can also compete so as to be on the daylong leaderboards.
This year saw the addition of a new feature to the annual event with the introduction of the Road to Generosity.
The Road to Generosity offers a further chance of donating as the initiative promote and supports nonprofits through games and extra prizes.
Road to Generosity began its tour at the YMCA where members could either stop in so as to donate or to play games and get involved in fun activities.
The Road continued its tour in six other locations after stopping at the Red Wing. These locations were Twin Cities, St. Cloud, Moorhead, Duluth, and Marshall.
According to Jake Blumberg, GiveMN Executive Director, the Give to the Max day is an excellent chance for both schools and nonprofits. The two can make the most of the day event and use it for what they need.
The same Blumberg stated that the event is an excellent chance for the whole state to get involved in generous and giving events.
As such, they can help organizations achieve their mission or at least ensure their moving along towards their target.
Although Give to the Max Day is a once a year event, GiveMN declared that it should not be seen as a one-time chance or a singular event.
The platform encourages people to get involved and donate all throughout the year so as to help in the development of schools and organizations.
As both the earnings and all the involved parties have declared the day to have been a success, GiveMN hopes that it will encourage people to keep on helping for a good cause.
