BEACON TRANSCRIPT – Google is on an endless quest to bring users one of the best optimized experiences with its services. The latest addition is a feature which aims to simplify browsing among your personal data by helping users find particular files they are interested in. This feature is a Personal tab which lets you search for specific data on your account.
If you have a Google account, you must know that the service allows you to store different kinds of information and files. Sometimes, this data might gather in overwhelming quantities, making it difficult to find a particular piece of info. This is where the Personal tab steps in.
Search among your Google data
The feature allows you to search either for an email, a photo, or any tiny bit of information hidden among your Google files. Go to the regular search box on the browser and enter the keyword you find relevant for your search. After the results are displayed, select the More menu from the top right corner and choose Personal from the list.
This will bring only results from your own Google content. As mentioned above, it can be anything from Docs, Photos, Gmail, or any other Google tools you use. Each result is stored according to the tool it comes from, making it easier for you to find what you are looking for. After you finish scrolling among the results, you will see several ads Google found relevant for your query.
The results are personal
There’s no need to worry, as all these results are, as the name of the tab says, personal, and only you can view them. If you want to return to searching the web, click on All from the left corner and you’re back to the regular browser.
This feature is perfect for ‘veteran’ Google users, who must have gathered plenty of files and information on their accounts. This filter will help them manage their files better and find specific content in no time.
