LSU vs. Florida State Score: Live Game Updates, College Football Scores, Today’s NCAA Top 25 Highlights

Florida State leads LSU 17-10 after three quarters in New Orleans as the final game of Week 1 draws to a close. FSU quarterback Jordan Travis connected with Ontario Wilson for a 27-yard strike — Wilson made a stellar one-handed catch near the pylon — to make it a two-score game midway through the frame. That play included a targeting call on star LSU linebacker Ali Gaye, who hit QB Jayden Daniels on a blatant helmet-to-helmet that would keep Gaye packing for the rest of the evening.

However, LSU charged back. Aided by 30-yard penalties, the Tigers opened an 82-yard drive with a Noah Cain 1-yard plunge on fourth-and-goal. That drive was the first time all game that LSU looked like a competent offense, and the purple and gold crowd came alive as both teams headed into the final frame.

Daniels is saving his life from the Seminoles defensive front living in the backfield. The pressure forced Daniels into a “one read and bail” quarterback, which prevented his receivers from finding deep downfield.
