Monument Valley is now available on Apple’s App Store

BEACON TRANSCRIPT – Yesterday, Apple made an amazing announcement during a live stream from WWDC in San Jose. Monument Valley 2, the sequel to the 2014 amazing isometric puzzle, is now available on the App Store, and you can download it on any iOS device for only $5.

Apple held a special event in San Jose, Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), where they presented the redesigned App Store. Naturally, they had to present a few new titles as well, and the first one was Monument Valley 2.

The first Monument Valley gathered more than 26 million purchases

In 2014, Ustwo Game Studio released Monument Valley, a premium maze game which gathered more than 26 million purchases. Nine million of these downloads were performed only on iOS, which represents quite a big achievement. It is still far away from Minecraft, the best-selling game on iOS, or Angry Birds, but the game studio still scored a huge success.

The game faced a sudden burst of popularity after being featured in the third season of the political TV series House of Cards. In the show, the character played by Kevin Spacey is a big fan of video games, and spends most of his time engaging in this hobby.

An amazing isometric world with great visuals

If you are not familiar with Monument Valley, it features the character Ro who dwells in an architectural puzzle world she has to explore. In the sequel, she has to introduce her daughter to the breathtaking surroundings.

An isometric angle of the camera allows you to roam the labyrinthic puzzle and enjoy the visual beauty of the landscapes. Besides the exquisite design, the game also features beautiful audio elements, so playing the game with your headphones on is a must.

Downloading Monument Valley 2 is definitely worth it if you enjoyed the atmosphere and complexity of the first title. Also, if you haven’t heard of  the game until now, you must try the prequel as well, and let yourself immerse in a beautiful visual labyrinth.
