BEACON TRANSCRIPT – Lincoln police revealed a Friday that a 17-year-old woman was arrested and charged with trespassing and larceny for trying to steal a tabby from a homeowner’s porch. Tabby Escapes Abduction And Returns to Owner’s Porch
Meet Mo, an 8-year-old tabby cat with a compelling story. The feline, who likes nothing better than to sit on the porch all day long, came close to changing owners on Wednesday.
According to the police report, Samuel Evertson, Mo’s owner was at work when the incident occurred. A surveillance camera installed on the porch captured the feline’s abduction.
The 47-second-long footage shows a blonde woman wearing a white T-Shirt approaching the porch, where Mo was sitting.
Being quite fond of people, Mo approached the woman. After patting the cat, the suspect grabs him and makes a run towards the street, where a car was waiting to pick her up.
However, the wannabee catnapper was no match for Mo’s acrobatic prowess. Upon opening the car’s back door to shove the cat inside, Mo bolts and flees to the house.
The last seconds of the footage show the car moving away from Evertson’s house, as the 8-year-old tabby resumes her feline activities.
Mo’s owner contacted the authorities after reviewing the tape. To expedite the case, Lincoln’s Police Department made the video public.
Conclusion

On Friday, the suspect was taken into custody and charged with trespassing and larceny. The 17-year-old revealed that Mo’s abduction was part of a dare and that she never intended to keep Evertson’s tabby.
