BEACON TRANSCRIPT – North Ridgeville police were at a loss when an individual contacted them on early Saturday morning to report that he’s being followed by a menacing pig. Responders verified the man’s story and took the pig to the local dog kennel.
Menacing Pig Ran Away from an Elyria Farm Police Confirmed
On Saturday morning, at 5:26, an Ohio man called 911 and told the operator that he was being followed. When the operator asked him to describe the situation, the man said that he was being followed by a pig.
According to North Ridgeville PD’s Facebook post, most operators on the graveyard shift have to deal with drunk calls or people hallucinating.
Still, a police car was dispatched to the man’s location. Upon arriving, the deputies realized that the ‘drunk’ man was actually telling the truth was not at all drunk.
Apparently, the swine wandered off from a nearby farm and made its way to the Amtrak train station. Once the individual got off the train, the menacing pig began tailing him.
Realizing that the animal was following him, the Ohio man called the authorities as he didn’t know how to handle the situation.
Moreover, according to the police, the individual was far from being drunk or hallucinating.
The menacing pig was placed inside the cruiser and taken to the local animal shelter. Later that day, the authorities returned the pig to its owner.
Because it was such an exceptional encounter, the police officers involved decided to share the story on social media.
It would appear that this isn’t the first time North Ridgeville officers were called for animal control. In 2015, several deputies chased after a kangaroo which apparently escaped from the city’s zoo.
The Ohio man said that the menacing pig did not hurt him.
