Police were called to the Abington Township home last night by the couple’s son for a well-being check. Police found the mutilated and charred remains of 73-year-old Reid Beck and 72-year-old Miriam Beck. Police say Beck, 49, lived at the home with his parents and shot them both in the head before cutting them off.

Police were called to a home in Abington Township Wednesday night to check on the couple’s son. Police found mutilated and decomposed remains. Reed Beck, 73, and Miriam Beck, 72, “observed one deceased person wrapped tightly in a white bed sheet, and evidence of a second deceased person inside the home. There were signs of severe trauma,” the DA’s report said. Police were called to a home in Abington Township Wednesday night for a well-being check on the couple’s son.

Police found the mutilated and decomposed remains of 73-year-old Reid Beck and 72-year-old Miriam Beck.

“Officers observed one deceased person wrapped tightly in a white bed sheet and evidence of a second deceased person inside the home. There were signs of severe trauma,” a statement from the DA’s office said. “A chainsaw was located near one of the bodies, and both were in various stages of dismemberment.”

Police say 49-year-old Verity Beck, who lived in the home with her parents, shot them both in the head at close range before dismembering their bodies.

“This is someone who murdered his mother and father and put the body parts in dumpsters. So, clearly he’s trying to dispose of evidence,” Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said.

No motive was disclosed.
